FSTS: Reflective Statement
I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed in myself over this project. Not in terms of the work produced, but my work ethic.
In terms of the work produced, I'm certainly pleased with what I created. On reflection, I can definitely see cracks and faults, but if I made more time I'm sure I could easily have addressed them.
In my crit feedback, Phil and Simon, noted my reliance on maya to block out environments. They told me I need to stop doing this as they feel that my work without a crutch can develop much better. I agree. Phil told me to stop using the same tools and Simon told me to stop worrying so much about perspective. I will try my hardest to resist falling back to my blocky default in favour of creating something new and, hopefully, better.
Honestly I have little excuse for my lack of work done and uploaded this term.
I need to use this coming reading week to my full advantage in order to get all toolkit work and reviews left over completed and uploaded. I know I can do it.

FSTS: Treatment
Calling Ezra is a short story about a young scientist and a strange situation he finds himself in.
The story starts with Ezra, a scientist that works at a genetics lab, sitting outside a coffee shop with his friend, Sam. While the two relax, Ezra receives a phone call from one of his colleagues. Ezra is blamed for strange happenings going on at the lab; this confuses Ezra as he obviously isn't at the lab at that exact moment, when suddenly from phone comes a loud scream. This startles Ezra. As he asks if his colleague is alright he hears a voice that sounds exactly like himself. The voice demands a video call. Once Ezra does this his confusion turns to horror as a double of himself is on the phone screen. The double insists that Ezra come down to the lab and then hangs up the phone. Ezra hesitates and then rushes off to the lab. Sam is left there worried and confused.
When Ezra arrives at the lab, he finds it dark and almost completely empty, with the exception of a shadowy figure stareing at him from the other end of the main corridor. The figure tries to get Ezra to engage in banterfull conversation, but Ezra is having none of it. A little bit disappointed, the shadowed figure mentions that he has answers for what is going on and promptly leaves. Ezra, being naturally curious, cannot resist knowing what’s going on; so he gives chase. He follows the mysterious character into a room he hasn’t seen before. This room is completely pitch black, except for a blue, glowing terminal in the center of the room. Ezra cautiously moves towards this terminal and taps its screen. As he does that the light in the room suddenly becomes blinding. After a little adjustment, Ezra opens his eyes to see the room is lined with blue tanks with people inside them. This horrifies Ezra. He quickly notices that one of the tanks has his name written on it. He walks towards it. He stares at the empty vat, with disgust and confusion. While he contemplates to himself, his clone appears in the tanks reflection with a chuckle. Ezra’s face turns to one of terror. The camera cuts to black.
Back at the cafe, ‘Ezra’ walks back over to the table. He sits down and engages in conversation with Sam. They ask Ezra if everything is ok. With a chuckle he insists that everything’s fine, however while he says this the camera shows the real Ezra asleep in the cloning tank.
The short ends here with an open ending, leaving room for audience interpretation.

Character Design Session 6
Our final character design session.
We started this session by creating storyboards in small groups. I was working with Karris and Katerin.
For our final character design task, we had to apply everything we had learned to create a character based on brief descriptions.
I chose the character of "Grok", a reptilian brutish henchman type character.
I'm actually quite proud of this design.

Session five; we were working on environments.
We had to create an exterior and an interior.
My prompt was art deco.
Not going to lie, I struggled with this task as I honestly found it difficult to wrap my head around the concept art deco.

For our fourth session we were working on action lines.
My first prompt was Long Jumping.
For the second task of this session we were given two prompts: a character and an action.
I had an Arabian thief wall climbing.

Character Design Session 3
Session three of character design, we were looking at animals.
Firstly we were given a specific animal to draw; I was given the badger.
After drawing the animal, we were then given another animal and our task was to merge to two creatures. My second animal was the chameleon.
The next task was to create two creatures, one predator and one prey, based on a location. For this part we were working in pairs. I was working with Katerin, and our prompt was woodland. He designed a predator while I created its prey.

Our second session of character was about props.
We started with a prompt and we had to create items associated with that.
My prompt was a crime fighter. My instinct was to create a noir style vigilante.
Our second task of the day had us creating anthropomorphic household items. I had to create characters based on items you'd find in a workshop.

In session one of Character design we were learning about character shapes.
Circles = Friendlier
Squares = Stronger
Triangles = Nastier
In our first task we were given a character; I was given Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph.
Firstly, we had to draw the character in a simpler or more complex style; I drew Ralph in a more simple style.
After we had to start playing with the shape of the character. Since Ralph is made mostly of squares, I decided to see how he'd change when made up of triangles.
Our second task was to draw our own characters, based on a prompt, using different shapes. My prompt was vampires.

Life Drawing Session 12
This session was a little bit different. We were tasked with drawing to film soundtracks, however the model decided that he wanted to move to the music, which is why I found it difficult to get much down on paper.
We started with soundtracks from various Hitchcock films.
