Hey Terry - okay, good, so you need to make sure in your definition of Queer Theory, you establish some of the key 'manoeuvres' - so identifying how it operates and what it seeks to do/find/uncover and so on. When you do your overview of the theorists, you need to stop this being just a list of names (a who's who) and ensure you can identify some of the key ideas that have been contributed by the theorists - so who they are and what they brought to the table. The REALLY sophisticated thing is this: when you move into your analysis of the film, what the assessor is really looking for is you being able to take some of those key ideas you established and introduced and USE them proactively; so for example, you might say something like... 'In Condon's remake, there is a moment wherein Butler's ideas of gender performance is signified when one of the villagers is made to dress up as a woman...' My point being that having established the critical framework pertaining to Queer theory in the first bit of the essay, you should bring those names and their ideas back into the mix as you get in your analysis. This makes for a nicely integrated and joined up experience and shows you're able to use those ideas confidently. You're probably planning on this already, but in light of what you're saying about Jean Cocteau's sexuality and the film, you should probably to do additional research around Bill Condon (he is also gay) and see if you've can find anything which might support the view that Beauty & The Beast is a story that speaks to LGBT creatives and audiences...
